Day Care Assistant

Job Type: Full-time/ Part-Time

Salary: $10.00 /hour

 

Patrick Family Childcare is seeking qualified candidates to assist our lead teachers in the care of enrolled children. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our teaching staff with the care of our enrolled children. Primary responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Aid in facilitating lesson plans or planned activities in the class room.

• Supervise, document, and facilitate restroom breaks, including diaper changes.

• Serve and document meals, snacks, and other child-specific activities.

• Talk with parents about behavioral ups and downs.

• Develop activities to stimulate the children.

• Become familiar with emergency procedures and protocol.

• Clean and sterilize equipment and toys daily.

• Supervise children at all times.

• Create arts and crafts for children.

• Comfort children in times of need.

• Discuss development with teaching staff and parents.

• Promote literacy and early education.

 

Required Credentials

• high school diploma or GED

• Minimum 45 hours documented experience with children in a daycare setting

• Ability to pass state-required background checks (or have current clearances dated within 5 years)*

• Current pediatric first-aid, CPR, and AED certification preferred*
